The Artists As new artists are added to the gallery, we will feature them on this page as well as having a page of their own. Keep checking to see what is going on. Currently exhibiting are several local artists in addition to our permanent artist, Metin Bereketli from Hollywood, California. Our newest exhibitor is a longtime resident of Phoenix and a world-renowned sculptor, George-Ann Tognoni. She is exhibiting some of her smaller pieces including some animals and people. She is also exhibiting her Peace Monument model that she would like to have built in Phoenix to show that the children of all nations can come together and live in a world of peace. Banding Hendrix brings more pop exposure to us painted on wood and showing icons of the jazz world. Currently we have Miles and Jimmy Hendrix and Louis Armstrong. We will soon have James Brown and others. Two new artists from Chandler include Athena Hampton with acrylics and mixed media and Brenda Knighton with some elegant African dolls. Kris Brambilla is an art graduate of Arizona State University and is showing some acrylic on wood pieces reminiscent of the Jackson Pollack school. Linda Evans has colorful geometric pictures that are done with colored pencil. She also teaches art classes. Ross Boyd is a master at all kinds of art. He does original acrylics, pen and ink, colored pencil, painting on vehicles, guitars, and tatoos. The portraits of ladies painted digitally by Tad Smith are very realistic and yet have a feeling of being characters in an animated feature. Mark Grieve has a real gift when it comes to creating ceramic animals and creatures. They are whimsical and enjoyed by all ages. |
